Basic Estate Planning Seminar

 

Local attorney, Ralph Keister, provided a second Basic Estate Planning Seminar to over 70 people on Tuesday, April 12, 2011. Mr. Keister, a partner with Faulkner, Garmhausen, Keister and Shenk, has more than 40 years of experience and specializes in tax and estate planning. 

 

His presentation covered topics including what comprises an estate, different forms of property ownership and what each means to an estate, important documents helpful in the event of future disability, common forms of planning such as wills and trusts and the consequences to a family if no will is prepared. 

 

One of the highlights of this event was the opportunity for attendees to ask questions at the end of the presentation. 

 

This event, as well as the previous Basic Estate Planning seminar and Trust Seminar held in 2010, was sponsored by The Community Foundation of Shelby County, The Lehman High School Foundation, The Sidney-Shelby County YMCA Foundation and the Wilson Memorial Hospital Foundation. If warranted by the evaluations, a second seminar may be held later in the year.
